Some fur traders from Fort William Historical Park were in ample evidence rooting for the home team during Fort William Historical Park Night.
As part of the evening activities, the Fort's mascot, Willy the Voyageur, took to the ice along with Wolfy, the Thunderwolves mascot, during period intermissions. A Fort bagpiper also added a bit of heritage flavour.
Costumed Fort greeters were also handing out flyers and posters promoting Fort's Voyageur Winter Carnival February 14th-16th, March Break Day Camp and other seasonal programming.
As part of its escalating community branding initiative, the Fort has had significant promotional profile at Thunderwolves' games over the past few years. Offenders banished to the penalty box during LU games find themselves in the Fort's "jail," (or "gaol," the heritage spelling) emblazoned by the prominent Fort logo.
Evidently, the fur traders brought some good luck with them. LU went on to win the game 8-0.
